For Science Subjects:

→ 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
→ OR 3-year Diploma in Engg. (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/CS/IT/etc.) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
→ OR 2-year Vocational Course with Physics and Maths + 50% aggregate and 50% in English

For Other Than Science Subjects:

→ 10+2 in any stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
→ OR 2-year Vocational Course with 50% aggregate and 50% in English

➤ Age Limit

→ Born between 02 July 2005 to 02 January 2009 (both inclusive)
→ Maximum age at the time of enrollment: 21 years

➤ Marital Status & Physical Standards

→ Only unmarried candidates eligible
Height:
  → Males: Minimum 152.5 cm
  → Females: Minimum 152 cm (147 cm for NE/Uttarakhand, 150 cm for Lakshadweep)
Chest (Males): Minimum 77 cm + 5 cm expansion
Chest (Females): Well-proportioned, 5 cm expansion
Hearing: Normal (able to hear whisper from 6 meters)
Dental: Healthy gums, minimum 14 dental points

I. Agnipath Scheme Overview

The Agnipath scheme, approved by the Government of India on June 14, 2022, is a recruitment initiative for soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers across the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Those recruited under this scheme are known as "Agniveers."

Tenure: Agniveers serve for a fixed term of four years, including six months of training.
Post-tenure Opportunity: After four years, up to 25% of each batch may be selected for permanent service based on merit and organizational needs. The rest are demobilized with a Seva Nidhi package and a Skill Certificate.
Benefits: Alongside monthly pay and allowances, Agniveers receive life insurance cover, a lump-sum Seva Nidhi package on exit, and a Skill Certificate to support post-service employment.
Age Criteria: Candidates must be born between July 02, 2005, and January 02, 2009, i.e., between 17.5 and 21 years.
Educational Qualification:
 ◆ Science Group: 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English (50% aggregate and 50% in English), or a 3-year engineering diploma with equivalent marks, or a 2-year vocational course with Physics and Maths.
 ◆ Non-Science Group: 10+2 in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate and English, or a 2-year vocational course with the same criteria.
 ◆ Candidates eligible for the Science group can also opt for Non-Science.


II. Detailed Syllabus Breakdown

IAF Agniveer Vayu exam patterns vary based on the stream: Science, Other than Science, or both combined.

A. For Science Subjects:
★ Subjects include English, Physics, and Mathematics, based on CBSE 10+2 syllabus.

Physics: Covers foundational topics like Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Waves, Optics, Atomic and Nuclear Physics, Communication Systems, and more.
Mathematics: Encompasses Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors, Probability, and Statistics.
English:
 ➤ Grammar: Subject-Verb Agreement, Tenses, Sentence Transformation, Modifiers, etc.
 ➤ Vocabulary: Synonyms/Antonyms, Idioms, One-word Substitutions.
 ➤ Reading Skills: Comprehension passages, Jumbled Sentences.
 ➤ Narration & Voice: Direct-Indirect speech and Active-Passive voice usage.

B. For Other Than Science Subjects:
★ Subjects include English, Reasoning, and General Awareness (RAGA).

Reasoning: Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning including puzzles, series, direction tests, coding-decoding, syllogisms, seating arrangements, tabulation, etc.
General Awareness:
 ➤ Mathematics: Basic arithmetic, mensuration, trigonometry, and data interpretation.
 ➤ GK & Current Affairs: Indian polity, history, geography, science, sports, awards, major events, and computer basics.


III. Exam Pattern Explanation

Phase I: Online Test (CBT)
Marking Scheme: +1 for correct, -0.25 for incorrect answers.
Group-wise Structure:

Science Group: 70 questions (20 English, 25 Physics, 25 Maths) – 60 minutes.
Other Than Science Group: 50 questions (20 English, 30 RAGA) – 45 minutes.
Combined Group: 100 questions – 85 minutes.

Phase II: Physical Fitness & Medical Examination
➤ Candidates clearing Phase I are called for Phase II.
PFT Requirements (Male): 1.6 km run in 7 mins, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats.
PFT Requirements (Female): 1.6 km run in 8 mins, 10 sit-ups in 1.5 mins, 15 squats.
Adaptability Test I & II: Evaluate deployment adaptability and suitability for Air Force lifestyle.
Medical Tests: Involves physical examination, lab tests, vision, and general health assessment. LASIK/PRK not permitted.
